Nights of Lights St. Augustine is one of our favorite winter spots to visit with the family. It’s commonly hailed as one of the top holiday light displays in the world and high on our winter bucket list each year. We’re here to tell you, it really does live up to the hype. Millions of white lights line the streets and trees throughout downtown St. Augustine making it a magical wonderland to stroll through.

Nights of Lights St. Augustine is Free to Attend

Much like some of our other favorite holiday light displays, Nights of Lights is completely free to attend. You may have to pay for parking, but even some free options are available if you’re willing to park outside of downtown and walk a few blocks. Set in downtown St. Augustine, the display is massive, with lights hung from trees and building throughout the city. We recommend you make sure and visit the outside of Flagler College and the Lightner Museum. With the holiday lights up they look like real life gingerbread houses glowing in the darkness.

The Lights are Up for Past Christmas

Another great feature of the Nights of Lights St. Augustine light display is how long the lights stay up. Typically lasting until the end of January, if you’re looking for a post-Christmas outing, then visiting St. Augustine is a great option. This extended display period means less rush to make sure you see the lights before Christmas, and more nights when you can take in a walk around downtown. St. Augustine is a great spot for a day trip while the kids are out on holiday break, and plan to stay into the evening to see the lights before heading home.
