The neighborhood of Blackhawk Bluff has one of our favorite holiday light displays in Jacksonville. From Thanksgiving until New Years, you can drive through this quiet neighborhood and experience a completely free Christmas light spectacular.
Blackhawk Bluff Neighborhood Lights are Free to Visit
While we do love some of the Jacksonville light displays that you must pay to visit, one of the best things about the lights in the Blackhawk Bluff neighborhood is that they are completely free to visit. Located off Girvin Road, the residents of this small neighborhood spend all their own time and money hanging lights to bring holiday cheer. And Blackhawk Bluff isn’t the only spectacular drive through display in Jacksonville. If you’re looking for other neighborhoods, be sure to check out the Arbor Glade neighborhood lights in Mandarin.
Enjoy an Entire Neighborhood of Decorated Houses
Not only does the entire neighborhood of Blackhawk Bluff go all out with their house decorations, they also hang beautiful star lights from the trees. As you wind through this subdivision there are lights on either side, but also above you. Make sure you go slow, this is a neighborhood where people live, but don’t block driveways or intersections if you can help it. As the holiday season progresses, traffic can be very congested in this neighborhood. We recommend you visit early in the season to avoid the crowds.
If You Like those Stars, You can Purchase Your Own
Not only does this subdivision offer an amazing, free, drive through light show, but you can also buy your own hanging star light frame for your home. After viewing these beautiful twinkling creations you’re sure to want one of your own. The way they hang in the trees creates the most magical lighted wonderland.

Your post says starts on Thanksgiving but the date is for 11/26 can you clarify?
11/26/21 is the day after Thanksgiving, which is when the lights should be on. These are private homes so some will be on Thanksgiving night as well.

Can you walk the neighborhood as well?
No, it’s not recommended because of all the traffic and a lack of sidewalks.
