Nestled in the heart of the Beaches Town Center, Hawkers Asian Street Fare offers an eclectic array of asian dishes. Some of our favorites include dumplings with bounce, spicy curries, crisp pork belly and more. Hawkers is a great place for an afternoon lunch date on the patio or stop by in the evening for a drink at the bar and sample some of their small plates.
Ambiance at Hawkers:
One of the first things you notice when you enter Hawkers is the beautiful and rustic decor. The ocean breeze makes the patios inviting almost any time of year. There’s plenty of people watching if you sit out front, while the back patio is hidden away from the hustle and bustle. During the day there is ample natural daylight that streams in from the high windows and in the evening, the low vintage lights offer a soft glow and a romantic mood. Be warned that Hawkers is a pretty noisy restaurant when it’s crowded. However, this makes it a great choice if you’re trying to have a night out with kids in tow.
Drinks at Hawkers:
Hawkers offers a full bar including beer, wine, and several specialty craft cocktails. They have lots of local beers on tap so you can try some Jacksonville favorites when you go. The Five-Spice Old Fashion, Margari-tai and Malaysian Mule are a few of our favorite drinks.
Food at Hawkers:
Hawkers offers a wide variety of small plate options. It’s easy to try lots of different dishes while you’re there. Whether you prefer noodles, rice, salads, curry, street tacos or rolls, they have it all. Be sure to try the Roti Canai, it’s a Malaysian flat bread served with a side of signature curry. If you want, you can order extra pieces of flat bread to keep you dipping while you’re sipping your favorite cocktail.
Date Night Details:
The attire at Hawkers is casual. You’ll be perfectly comfortable dressing up a little, or coming in wearing jeans. Parking in the area can be tricky, especially if you’re visiting during peak times. You can use the valet service for free in the parking lot next to the restaurant, just be sure to get your ticket validated. Hawkers does not take reservations, but you can call ahead up to an hour before you arrive and they’ll add your name to the wait list.
