If you’re on the hunt for a skate park in Jacksonville then we have good news, there are lots to choose from! Whether your kid is a seasoned skateboarder or just beginning to take an interest in the sport, there’s a park for every experience level. One of our favorite things about the skating scene is North Florida is that many of our favorite parks include a skating element making it easy to visit and let the kids enjoy their own thing.

Cuba Hunter Skate Park in Jacksonville, FL

Cuba Hunter Skate Park

Cuba Hunter Park is located near Emerson Street and recently updated its skate park in 2023. It features a 6-ft half pipe, a 7-ft quarter pipe, jump boxes, multiple rails and a bank ramp. After skateboarding, you can also explore the 0.25-mile boardwalk winding through more than 3.5 acres of wetlands, as well as five playscapes that were installed in the park that includes climbing, swinging, musical chimes to play music and more.
Hours: Sunday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Ed Austin Regional Park – Monument Skate Park

Located in the Arlington area is Ed Austin Regional Park. Within the park is the Monument Skate Park. It offers a large concrete park with a jersey barrier. It features 9,000 square feet of smooth concrete. Next to the park is a walking and biking trail loop, basketball courts, soccer fields, baseball fields, an 18-hole disc golf course, and a playground. There is also a large, wooded off-leash dog park on the north side of the park.
Hours: Monday through Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Saturday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Jack Russell Park - Oceanside Rotary Skate Park in Atlantic Beach, FL

Jack Russell Park – Oceanside Rotary Skate Park

Oceanside Rotary Skate Park is located on the Jack Russell Park in Atlantic Beach. The park has a 12-ft vertical, half-bowl cutting down to a 6-ft wall on one side with a 6 ft to 3 ft on the other and a “hump” joining the two. It has an additional 12-ft wall with a hubba hole and a snake run. Helmets are required for skaters 17 years old and under. Skaters 16 years old and under are required to fill out a notarized consent waiver and take it to Atlantic Beach City Hall to be able to skate at the park.
Hours: Sunday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Riverside Skate Park – Coming Soon

Jacksonville’ newest skate park is nearly complete. The Riverside Skate Park under the Fuller Warren Bridge. The skate plaza is slated to consist of three rooms/spaces between the freeway pillars for various skill levels. The park is part of Artist Walk, a new park planned for the land between the I-95 on- and off-ramps at Park Street. It is expected to be completed in spring 2024. 

South Beach Skate Park in Jacksonville Beach, FL

South Beach Skate Park

South Beach Skate Park was recently remodeled and upgraded in 2017 and is located next to Sunshine Playground, one of the best playgrounds in the city. The smooth concrete ground and sprawled-out flow makes it a great place for all levels. It has quarter pipes, transition, bowls, and pools, with banks and ledges surrounding the park.
Hours: Sunday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Orange Park Skateboard Park

The Orange Park Skateboard Park is owned by the Town of Orange Park and operated by OP Skate Park Inc., a not-for-profit. Skateboards and in line skates are permitted at the park. Anyone under 16 years of age must wear a helmet. The Orange Park Skate Park is free.
Hours: Open daily 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., except in the case of heavy rainfall.

Private Skate Parks in North Florida

Kona Skate Park in Jacksonville, FL

Kona Skate Park

Kona Skate Park, dubbed the “world’s oldest surviving skate park,” is located in the Arlington area near Regency Square Mall and was built in the late 70s. The park features concrete hills and a snake run, where guests can take several different paths. Fun fact: It’s recreated in a level of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 game. Kona also offers a weekly summer camp for skaters ages 8-14, and of all abilities. The skate park also offers private lessons. 
Admission: $10 for two hours and $15 for all day. 
Hours: Vary by season. Typical hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday from Noon to 8 p.m.; and closed on Monday.

The Skate Yard

The Skate Yard is a private facility located in Atlantic Beach. They offer camps, after-school programs, Saturday group lessons and park rentals. You must have a reservation to participate.  
Admission: Rates vary depending on what you’re participating in.

Skate Parks in St. Augustine

Robert-Laryn Skate Park 

The Robert-Laryn Skate Park—a 28,000 square-foot complex dedicated to skaters of every age and skill level—is located within Treaty Park. The skate park has half-pipes, rails, ledges, a 9.5-ft kidney-shaped concrete pool for advanced skaters, and an area specifically for beginners called the Little Dudes Park for those under the age of 12.
Hours: Open daily from sunrise to sundown.

Veterans Park

Veterans Park is a 50-acre complex that features a playground, multipurpose fields, basketball courts, dog park and a skate park. The skate park is made up of a back-and-forth run with a quarter pipe and bank on the sides of a funbox. The park also features a miniramp. All skaters must wear helmets.
Hours: Open daily from sunrise to sundown.
